Lower Valley Stabbing Victim Identified

EL PASO— The dead body of a man found in the lower valley on Thursday has been identified.

The body of Juan Jose Esquivel, 33, was found by two people walking near Nevarez Rd. and Alameda Rd. around 6:30 a.m. Thursday morning. The body was on the north side of a canal in the 300 block of Nevarez.

Witnesses said the victim appeared to have had his throat cut and his partially duct taped.

Police have not confirmed the details of the body.

There are no suspects in this case.

This is the ninth murder this year.
