EL PASO - Customs officers seized some suspicious cargo at the Ysleta Port of Entry.

Not drugs, but apple puree.

Turns out, 50 gallon barrels of the product was shipped on pallets that were out of compliance with shipping codes.

“Noncompliant wood packaging materials pose a dangerous threat to the welfare of our agricultural industry,” said Bill Molaski, CBP El Paso Port Director. “Pests can be introduced in untreated wood products."
