Unemployment Spikes in El Paso

EL PASO - More El Pasoans were looking for work last month.

The Texas Workforce Commission says unemployment spiked to 10.4 percent in January.

That is seven-tenths of a percentage point higher than the month before.

The Texas jobless rate stood at 8.3 percent last month.

That is seven-tenths of a percentage point lower than the national average.
