UMC to Play Larger Role in Mental Health

El Paso - University Medical Center in South El Paso will soon assume responsibility for more than 1,000 mentally ill patients in the Borderland.


These patients were once under the care of El Paso Mental Health and Mental Retardation but, MHMR is full to capacity. Late this week County Commissioners voted to appoint UMC as the patients' primary care facility.

I am very happy to hear that thomason will take over i am a pacient of MHMR and they have treat me with no respect they are alwasy acusing me of things and they don't do there job and i'm getting tired of not having someone to help me with my mental illness. there are moments that i get so mad becasue i asked them to help me many wasy and they don't they just sitt there geting a big check for doing nothing they don't help the social workers are rude and they treat you bad. thanks
