UBS, Harley Davidson collect 300 pints of blood Friday
EL PASO (KTSM) — Many people were donating blood at the community blood drive at Barnett Harley Davidson in El Paso and Las Cruces.
This is the fifteenth time the United Blood Services and Harley Davidson have teamed up for a blood drive.
UBS said it's been a huge success. On Friday, they collected 300 pints of blood, reaching the 10,000 mark.
People we talked to encourage everyone to donate.
"I come to donate blood. There are a lot of situations… a lot of people might need it so it’s best. If you can donate, donate because you never know in a situation you can come out and need blood yourself. That's why I do it," said Rogelio Valencia.
Donors were entered in a contest to win a 2013 Harley Davidson.
People can donate at the Barnett Harley Davidson on I-10 and Lomaland from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and at Barnett Las Cruces on I-10 and Mesilla from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
