TX senator introduces legislation preventing IRS enforcement of Obamacare
WASHINGTON D.C. (KETK) — On Wednesday, a Texas politician took measures to protect the public by introducing an amendment to the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD) appropriations bill.
In a release to the media, U.S. Senator John Cornyn stated his concerns with the government's say in America's health care.
"After the abuses and mismanagement that have come to light, it is clear we must prevent the IRS from having any role in Americans’ health care," said Cornyn. "I cannot support giving the IRS any responsibility or taxpayer dollars to implement this broken law.”
The purpose of his amendment reads as follows:
"To provide that no funds may be used by the Secretary of the Treasury to implement or enforce any provisions of or amendments made by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act or Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010."
