Two people without homes after two overnight fires in Las Cruces
LAS CRUCES, N.M — Two overnight house fires in Las Cruces have left two people without a home.
The fire blaze happened just before midnight last night at Holiday Avenue and Hadley Lane.
Fire officials say the crew contained the fire within minutes of arrival.
Officials say a Las Cruces police officer helped one woman evacuate safely.
The second fire happened Sunday at 5:30 a.m. near West Ethel Avenue and North Miranda Street.
Heavy flames and smoke were seen coming from the side of the house.
The man in the home was able to get out unharmed.
Fire investigators are still trying to find out what started these fires.
The American Red Cross is helping the victims of both homes.
