Deputies made two more arrests Tuesday in connection to a deadly New Year's Day home invasion in Doña Ana County.

Cylver Pearl Betancourt, 18, and Rachel Carrillo, 19, are in the Doña Ana County Detention Center on charges of aggravated burglary and conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary.

Deputies believe they were part of a group of four alleged gang members that forced their way into the home of professional Mixed Martial Arts fighter Joe Torrez, 600 block of King James on New Year's Day.

Torrez fought back, killing 25-year-old Sal Garces, and injuring Nathan Avalos, 19. Garces was found two houses down from Torrez' home.

Torrez' fiance, two-year-old son, and 17-year-old sister were inside the home at the time of the alleged invasion.

Avalos was arrested in connection to the alleged burglary Monday.

The women were arrested at a home in the 1200 block of Wingate just after 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Both are being held on a $10,000 secured bond.
