Two former Socorro Independent School District trustees will spend 11 months in prison combined.

That sentence was handed down Monday in federal court for Charles "Charlie" Garcia and Ray Rodriguez.

They were bribed to award the district's health insurance contract to Access Healthsource, through CEO Frank Apodoca.

Garcia was ordered to spend 7 months in prison, and four months for Rodriguez.

Both must pay $5,575 in restitution back to SISD.

Garcia must pay an additional $20,000 fine.

Apodaca had his sentencing rescheduled to Nov. 5th.
