EL PASO - Imagine being the sole caregiver of your critically ill spouse, on a very fixed budget, while trying to be excused from jury duty, and then being denied. That's the situation one El Paso woman finds herself in.

61-year-old Linda Connell told us she can't afford to pay for someone to take care of her husband, while she shows up for jury duty, since he requires round-the-clock care. She said she tried to explain her situation to the El Paso County Council of Judges, and sent them a doctor's note, only to be denied.

She reached out to the NewsChannel 9 Troubleshooters team as a last resort. Find out more about her story tonight on NewsChannel 9 at 5.
