Trouble Shooters: Unfinished Business

After paying hundreds of dollars for utilities, an East El Paso family has gone weeks without natural gas.
They contacted newschannel 9 Troubleshooters for help.
The family moved in to a trailer off Zaragoza nearly a month ago.
They paid a company to do some work and hook up their basic utilities, but still no gas.
We tracked them down to get some answers.
Ruben Rodriguez moved into this mobile home park off Zaragoza nearly a month ago.
At the time he paid $750 for a utilities hookup.
Water, Sewage, Electric and Gas.
But, weeks later his gas lines remain unfinished...

We tracked down the manager of Newco Electrical Builders to ask why the job hadn't been finished.
First she told us Rodriguez hadn't paid in full.
But she couldn't explain why he had a receipt saying he did.

She added, his trailer had failed inspection.
But Rodriguez showed us he paid extra money to fix the problems.
But her crews hadn't done the work...

After shutting our cameras out.
The manager told us - her crews had a lot of jobs to get to and Rodriguez wasn't even the first.
Then had a change of heart and said she'd get them on it immediately.

Late tonight we checked back and still no gas for the mobile home.
The manager promised to have the work done by tomorrow.
