EL PASO — Facebook fans voted on the solar flare explosion as Thursday's Facebook Story of the Day. There were however, a few other stories that had fans talking.
Regarding the solar storm, the energy headed towards earth at about 4 million miles per hour and reached Earth Thursday morning. In the past, solar flares and storms have affected power grids, communication devices and GPS systems. Fortunately the impact was minor, unlike how some scientists expected. Rest assured, the world won't be ending because of this.
In the world of Facebook, NC9 posted an update telling fans about National Proofreading day. There was quite a bit of feedback with this story.
Beatriz Barrazza wrote:
“When they use am instead of I'm, like ‘am shopping.’"
Lorene Perrin pointed out how some people mix up the words "there, their, and they're."
Jessica Brooks claims to be a “grammar nazi,” pointing out the mix-ups between “were, we're and where.” Thanks to one viewer, we were able to post a photo in honor of Thursday’s grammar observance.
News Channel 9 took note of Taco Bell's release of their new Dorito Taco. We first told you about the menu addition weeks back, but it made it into restaurants Thursday.
We asked fans on Facebook if they’ve tried it, and here's what some people had to say:
Jesus Fernandez wrote that “he got heartburn just reading about it.”
On the contrary, Kimberly Priego tried the new menu item, and said they were good.
That was a wrap-up of what’s Trending Now on the web for Thursday.
