Trending Now: Family Zumba, Cupcake ATMs, Homeless Governor

Wednesday, March 7, 2012 - 6:59pm

News Channel 9 saw a good mix of interaction happening on the web Wednesday - from family zumba, cupcake atms, and even homeless governors.

El Paso City Parks and Recreation is now offering a class for family zumba at the Pavo Real Rec Center on Alameda Avenue. El Pasoans seemed pretty pumped about the classes.
“Sweet!” said Facebook Fan Jessica Renteria.

Jumping over to the West Coast, NC9 posted a link on Facebook about the country’s first cupcake ATM. In Los Angeles, customers can walk up to this state-of-the-art dispenser and select from 600 pre-baked cupcakes. Facebook Fan Tim Collins had this to say:

“Putting one in my office.”

For Wednesday’s Facebook Story of the Day, the story with the most fan votes went to the ‘homeless governor.’ Richard Codey, former governor of New Jersey -- who's now state senator-- underwent an intense makeup session to go undercover as a homeless man. It was no surprise his journey wasn't easy.

"For me it was tough, i sleep on my side so by 3 a.m., my hip was hurting," Codey said.

With a new perspective on homeless conditions, especially the mentally ill, Codey said he'll continue to urge officials to find more and better housing for them.  Watch the full story here
