Online Media Producer Bianca Cervantes spent some time on Twitter and Facebook on Friday, and came across some interesting topics. March 9 seemed to be a "Biggie" day for Twitter followers.

That was the top trending topic on Twitter, as people all over the world honored the death of who some called "the world's greatest rapper" also known as the Notorious B.I.G.

The controversial East Coast rapper, also referred to as Biggie Smalls, was murdered back in 1997 on this day. However, as one could see on Twitter, the music legend lives on.

Also flooding social media waves -what's this Kony 2012 campaign all about? As of Friday morning, the video on YouTube had more than 55 million views. It calls for the arrest of Joseph Kony, a fugitive leader of a Uganda militia group notorious for kidnapping kids and forcing them to fight. The campaign was backed by a handful of celebs including Angelina Jolie.

"He's an extraordinarily horrible human being who, you know...his time has come and it's lovely to see that young people are raising up as well," Jolie said.

NC9 asked Facebook viewers what they thought..

Anessa Anchondo-Rivera wrote: “Social media helps raise awareness, but often times, crucial information can be left out, as with this situation. I think it is a good cause, overall, but view it with a critical mind and investigate more for yourself.”

Turns out, the YouTube video had been heavily criticized for promoting a misunderstanding of the situation. Campaign organizers were also been flagged for questionable use of donation funds.
The viral hit raised the question of researching causes supported on social media.

On Facebook, Story of the Day went to “Anger Room.” A Dallas business that opened its doors to ‘angry’ people. Visitors paid to smash their anger away. Clients leave tired, but happy.
