EL PASO - The Texas Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing for the Transmountain Road Project next Tuesday, March 22, at 6 p.m.

The hearing will be at Canutillo High, 6675 South Desert Blvd. in the cafeteria.

The purpose is to answer questions about the project that goes from Loop 375 to the Franklin Mountain State Park Entrance, which affects almost 4 miles of main lanes and over 2 miles of frontage roads.

One proposed improvement is expanding the two-lane road to 4 lanes with two-lane frontage roads.

The drive is beautiful right now as it stands. I use Transmountain all the time and have never been stuck in traffic. Interstate 10 on the other hand is always congested.

i say both i 10 and transmountain. el paso needs to get with the times. were not a small city anymore.

I don't really understand what the problem is. Have any of you poeple used this road for business? trans mt. is supposed to be a loop around town for thru traffic. Which means truck traffic. It would be a very big improvement to have a 4 lane the whole way. Just use common sense in your decision. Larry O.

Why fix what's not needed. Sounds like a political favor. Expand I 10, that's what's needed. People, do not be duped by this con game. Usually there are 2 or 3 elitist making millions of dollars from the uneducated poor and middle class peons, while they laugh all the way to the bank. Ha ha, you can stop this joke, vote NO.

You must not get out much because you are not stuck in traffic in the morning commute or afternoon rush hour. It is a long over due project, and is needed for our city to leap into the future. The city's population is growing in leaps and bounds. In addition, more servicemembers and their families are re-locating to the sun city. This project alleviates traffic on I-10, which by the way gets bottlenecked everyday in both directions.
