Now hosts "Demolition Weekend"
EL PASO — Safely managing the colorful gondolas up and down Mt. Franklin since 1970, Humberto "Beto" Quinones can truly be called El Paso's number one tour guide.
While he's remained in the same place since 1970, he's seen the world come to him.
:"We've had people from Scandinavian countries, South America, all of Central America, China, and Russia"
And who make the best passengers?
"I would say that English people are very polite."
This weekend he'll be here early, guiding guests up to the top before dawn to catch the sunrise demolition of Asarco on the 13th, and then again, after a light breakfast, a panoramic view of City Hall's final moments on the 14th.
"One day this will be an historic event and I will be able to say and people will be able to say 'I was was there for that."
