A semi-truck caught fire on I-10 westbound near the Zaragoza exit around 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

The fire, which engulfed the entire cab of the truck, along with the attached trailer could be seen for miles. Emergency responders were forced to shut down I-10 in both directions for approximately 30minutes.

Police were able to open all lanes of traffic along I-10 eastbound at approximately 10 a.m., but still have two lanes of I-10 westbound at Zaragoza closed so that investigators can remove the charred remains of the truck.

A representative with the El Paso Fire Department says that the driver was able to get out of the truck without any injuries. No word on what caused the fire at this hour.
