El Paso, TX (KTSM) — UPDATE: Two people were transported to El Paso area hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
I-10 was re-opened around 4 pm.
El Paso Sheriff's and emergency crews are on the scene of a serious crash on I-10 eastbound at Clint.
A spokesperson with EPCSO says that a car was traveling eastbound near a construction zone, when it attempted to pass a semi-truck in the outside lane of I-10. When the car moved into the inside lane of the interstate, it saw the construction crew and immediately tried to move back into the outside lane.
The car side-swiped the semi-truck and rear-ended the construction vehicle working along the interstate.
The driver of the car is currently pinned inside of the vehicle at the scene.
EPCSO say that the scene will take up to three hours to clear, motorists should be aware that I-10 is completely closed at the Clint exit and motorists will have to exit the interstate.
We have a crew en route and will update as more information becomes available.
