Traffic roundabouts are expected for South El Paso
EL PASO- Road work has already begun on Alameda. The area near the Medical Center of the Americas is already going through some improvements.
TXDOT has planned for two roundabouts in the area. One at the intersection of Concepcion and Paisano, the other at Alameda and Paisano. The design and construction is supposed to ease traffic headaches and make the area look more attractive.
Local drivers are skeptical the plan will work. To counter that feeling, TXDOT will be planning public meetings to take input and design suggestions.
The project should start in August of 2013. It will last more than a year and cost nearly $10 million of federal money.
