Traffic diamond meeting draws no crowd
El Paso, TX (KTSM) — No members of the public showed up today to the first of 3 meetings to bring awareness and information about a new more complicated intersection.
The so-called Diverging Diamond Intersection will connect Loop 375 and Spur 601 through a series of lights and diverging roads. TXDOT is looking to improve this area, because they say it's congested during morning and evening commutes seeing more than 3,000 commuters during each.
They hope the Diverging Diamond Intersection will keep traffic moving safely.
"It's a safer commute," said Blanca Del Valle from TXDOT. "It's faster. There's more lanes and I think it's exciting because it's the first one in Texas".
There are 2 more public meetings scheduled for this week.
-Wednesday, November 6th at Parkland High School Cafeteria. The address is 5932 Quail Ave., El Paso, TX 79924.
-Thursday, November 7th at R.E.L. Washington Elementary School Gymnasium. The address is 3505 N. Lee Trevino Dr., El Paso, TX 79936.
Both meetings are from 5-7 p.m.
