Track vector control mosquito activity online
El Paso — The City of El Paso Environmental Services Department is introducing a web-based map highlighting its mosquito abatement activity.
The map allows residents to monitor mosquito-related activity by visiting:
Residents can find vector control treatment activity by typing in an address and then clicking on the location provided on the map. The sites also includes mosquito trapping activity.
“This new service provides El Paso residents the ability to stay informed about vector control activities in their neighborhoods,” Code Compliance Manager Elda Rodriguez-Hefner said.
The City of El Paso provides vector control services to protect the greater El Paso community from diseases transmitted by mosquitoes and rodents. The vector control team services neighborhoods within the El Paso city limits. It also services Anthony, Clint, El Paso County, Horizon City and Socorro through interlocal government agreements.
A vector is defined as any agent (person, animal or micro-organism) that carries and transmits an infectious pathogen into another living organism. The services include; trapping, sampling, abatement, treatment, inspection and enforcement.
