Town remains evacuated in wake of Silver fire
Kingston, NM (KTSM) — The small town of Kingston, New Mexico remained evacuated and under threat from the rapidly growing Silver fire in the Gila National Forest.
The wild-fire quadrupled in size in just over 24 hours, to nearly 7,000 acres by Tuesday afternoon and now spans just over 11,000 acres.
About 350 firefighters are battling the blaze. It was ignited by a lightning strike on Friday.
