Tips on viewing next week's Lunar eclipse

Monday, April 7, 2014 - 10:17pm

If you're willing to lose some sleep next Monday you could catch an amazing sight in the skies.

A total lunar eclipse will take place on April 15, 2014. It will be the first of two total lunar eclipses in 2014, and the first of a tetrad (four total lunar eclipses in series). Subsequent eclipses in the tetrad will occur on October 8 , April 8, 2015, and September 28, 2015.

Local astronomer Chris Grohusko will be setting up a powerful telescope at Corner Tavern and Grill for the lunar eclipse on Mon Apr 14 at 11:30pm until 2am for eclipse viewing.

He visited our studio Monday night to discuss what El Pasoans will be able to see.
