The Better Business Bureau of El Paso has tips to avoid making mistakes when filing your tax return. Do your homework on tax preparers in the city at  Be wary of tax refund anticipation loans.  The loan is not provided by the U.S. Treasury Department or the IRS and can hike on interest fees.  Check for missing or incorrect social security numbers because they can delay a tax refund.  To receive your tax return faster, file it online.  Make checks out to "United States Treasury" and include your social security number, phone number, the tax year and the type of form filed.  Don't forget to keep your receipts and other documents that were used to prepare your tax return.
