With the temperatures getting colder, El Paso Electric has some tips for an energy efficient winter.

Proper insulation is probably the single most important step you can take in energy conservation.

Caulking around windows and door frames will seal cracks and keep cold air out.

Set your thermostat as low as you comfortably can.

Set your heating system between 68 and 72 degrees during the day.

Set it at no more than 60 degrees at night.

Let the sun help heat your home.

Open your blinds and drapes during the day and let in warm sunlight and close them at night to keep the heat in.
