Two people were seriously injured in a serious two-vehicle crash in Northeast El Paso around 11:45 p.m. Thursday night.

The crash happened at the intersection of Railroad and Hercules when a 2001 silver Subaru Forrester driven by 22-year-old Alexus Rosas was heading south on Railroad when a 2002 Chevy Silverado driven by 36-year-old Rick Lujan ran a red light and turned left right into the path of Rosas.

Rosas and her passenger, 11-month-old Savannah Bitter, were both taken to local hospitals with serious injuries. Rosas' third passenger, Victor Bitter was also transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Traffic investigators booked Lujan into the El Paso County Detention Facility on two counts of Intoxication Assault with a bond of $40,000.

A search into Lujan's criminal record shows that he has a previous DWI conviction in 2001. EPPD says the investigation into the crash is ongoing, and they will release Lujan's mugshot at a later date.
