EL PASO —  Almost 14 thousand El Paso residents lost power Tuesday afternoon just after 2 p.m.

El Paso Electric blamed an equipment problem at the Ascarate substation. Power was restored about an hour later. The outage affected residents living along the Border Freeway to Yarbrough.
