Thousands of students are celebrating their graduation from UTEP.

UTEP celebrated its 130th commencement as students crossed the stage at the Don Haskins center to receive their diplomas.
Proud family members and friends joined the ceremonies to celebrate the students' academic achievement.
While the day was for students sharing a common achievement, some had different journeys to get to their goals.

"I raised my children. I take care of my family, my husband. Which I thank them today because I wouldn't be here without them. It's closing a cycle in my life, a dream come true and I expect to go on and become a teacher and touch many lives," said UTEP graduate Erika Castaño.

The college of Liberal Arts graduated at 9am, followed by the Colleges of Education and Business Administration at 2 p.m.
. for The School of Nursing and the Colleges of Science, Engineering, and Health Sciences graduated at 7 p.m.
