It's a summer tradition in Las Cruces with the Vans Warped Tour drawing in thousands of music fans from all over the region.

Wednesday more than 80 bands took the stage at New Mexico State University's intramural fields.

"It's like and adrenaline rush," said Alex Gutierrez. "It's pretty cool."

With the hot temperatures throughout the day, water was in high demand to help fans stay hydrated.

The festival had free water and a steady flow of people lining up for a fresh drink.
"I would say like a gallon of water," said Kyle Magg of the amount of water he had consumed for the day.

While a lot of fans did brave the heat to listen to some of their favorites, the festival is also a good way to introduce people to new bands.

"Hearing them perform and getting to talk to them afterwards about their performance is always fun," Gutierrez said.

While the sun did blare down for most of the afternoon, the slip and slide and large snow cones kept everybody cool and made it for a fun day of music under the sun.
