Thanksgiving Travel Expected to Cost You More

If you still haven't bought airline tickets for Thanksgiving weekend, expect to pay more than last year.

Travel agencies are seeing tickets costing 10% more than they did last year.

One travel agent we spoke with says now is already late to be thinking of buying tickets. Even a flight from El Paso to Los Angeles can cost you over $350.

One reason is higher operational costs for airlines passed down to consumers. Also, more people are planning on getting out of town.

"More people are traveling than they did in the last couple of years," said Sun Travel agent Lenore Kobren. "The economy is a little better, at least we hope."

Experts also recommend not waiting until the last minute because flights will be selling out.
