Texas Tech University officials discussed community involvement with Sun City business leaders.

The president of Texas Tech University in Lubbock held a roundtable discussion with the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce and local elected leaders to expand relationships with the El Paso community.
University officials say its all part of a plan to strengthen Texas Tech's economic footprint in the Sun City.

" We want to see it continue to grow with complimentary programs that don't compete directly with UTEP and are complimentary in areas where we have unique strengths," said Duane Nellis Ph.D, president of Texas Tech in Lubbock.

Officials added they hope this visit creates excitement for the upcoming football game between Texas Tech and UTEP scheduled for September.
