Texas police officer rescues same dog twice, adopts him
Arlington, TX — How about a feel good story from a loyal police officer in Arlington?
Sgt. Gary Carter with the Arlington Police Department has saved the same pit bull for second time.
A few weeks ago, Sgt. Carter rescued "Jeffrey" and took him back to his owner's home.
Unfortunately, "Jeffrey" ended up in Animal Services after he once again was found roaming outside his home. His previous owner told Animal Services he didn't want the dog anymore. Do you think that was the end of the story? Absolutely not!
Sgt. Carter went to Animal Services on Thursday morning and adopted "Jeffery" so he would not be euthanized.
"This dog keeps crossing my path, so it must be meant to be," said Sgt. Carter.
The first thing Sgt. Carter did during their new reunion was change his name to "Chance," since he's getting a second chance at life. An obedience school in Weatherford has agreed to provide training for "Chance."
Thank you, Sgt. Carter, for going above and beyond! You rock!
