DALLAS, TX - Your jack-o'-lantern may not look the same this year.

Farmers are warning of a pumpkin shortage as fall nears.

Pumpkin patch owners in Flower Mound Pumpking Village near Dallas told us the drought has forced them to order pumpkins from other states. That means the size of pumpkins will be smaller this year, and the cost is likely to go up.

"That big jack-o'-lantern may not be Texas-grown this year, it may come from out of state," said Wes Stucki from the Flower Mound Pumpking Village.

The pumpkin shortage isn't just affecting the lone star state; turns out, states in the Northeast are in a similar situation because of Hurricane Irene. The storm wiped out pumpkin patches across the region.
