Texas Communities Join Hands Against Child Abuse

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and various groups are teaming up to provide a series of events to promote awareness about the social issue. 

The Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) has gathered with local governments and community groups across the state to call attention to how to prevent, recognize, and report child abuse. A schedule of local events is available at ItsUpToYou.org

Upcoming Events: 

April 11th (Wed.) Go Blue Day Celebration
9:00 a.m. at CPS downtown office, 119 N. Stanton (corner of Texas and Stanton)
Join the grassroots effort of raising awareness and support of prevention efforts by passing out blue ribbons, child abuse prevention information and marching to the County Courthouse.

April 14th (Sat.) 4th Annual Family Fun Fair
9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Album Park, 3110 Parkwood Dr.
A proactive approach to child abuse prevention by participating in a family fair focused on strengthening family and strengthening our community.
