Teacher across the state head to the Capitol
AUSTIN — Hundreds of educators from across the state and the borderland were in Austin Monday to lobby at the State Capitol.
Approximately 400 educators from across Texas met with state legislators to discuss key public education issues during the Association of Texas Professional Educators' Lobby Day.
In conjunction with Lobby Day, ATPE members will also participate in a Political Involvement Training event, where they will learn how to impact the political process and gain insight into complex education issues facing the 83rd Legislature.
The Association of Texas Professional Educators is the the largest non-union educators' group nationwide.
