Texas Education Agency investigators are looking into evidence that could lead to several former employees having their credentials revoked.

It's all part of the cheating scandal with the El Paso Independent School District.

The TEA subpoenaed documents, its first time being allowed to do so after legislation authored by El Paso State Sen. Jose Rodriguez passed in the Texas Senate this session.

Those documents were a part of the Weaver, Tidwell firm's audit of the school district looking into the cheating scandal in the district.

The El Paso I.S.D's Board of Managers will meet Friday in executive session to discuss whether to approve the release of the documents.

The documents in question were withheld from the public because of what was considered attorney-client privilege.

The State Board of Certification is currently reviewing former Bowie Principal Jesus Chavez and former Bowie Assistant Principal Anna Luisa Kell, both of whom have been implicated in the cheating scandal.

Kell is currently suing the school district for being terminated on the basis of retaliation for cooperating with FBI agents in their case against former Superintendent Lorenzo Garcia, believed to be the scheme's orchestrator.
