Canutillo - - - An active case of Tuberculosis has turned up at Canutillo High School.
A total of 127 students have been exposed to TB.
The El Paso Health Department says the risk of infection is very low but the agency says all students are being asked to get tested just in case.
Last Tuesday, school administrators found a student had been diagnosed with TB.
That student is now out of school undergoing treatment.
TB is spread through the air and just to be safe, the health department wants everyone who shared a class with the student to get tested next week.
Experts say you'd have to spend six to eight hours in an enclosed space with someone who has TB to be infected and the rsk of students are in this case extremely low.
The principal of Canutillo High wants all parents to know that school is safe and urged everyone not to panic.
Test results should be back late next week.
We'll let you know what happens.
