TABC cracking down on underage drinking
AUSTIN, TX — It's spring break week, and the Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission wants to make sure alcohol doesn't end up in the hands of kids.
The TABC is cracking down on underage drinking by performing sting operations across the state.
The agency is targeting stores and bars where students might try to purchase alcohol, and is using undercover volunteers to make sure clerks and bartenders are checking Ids.
Selling alcohol to a minor can result in a $4,000 fine and up to a year in jail.
