El Paso Police arrested one man after an early morning SWAT call Thursday.

They were called out around just after 5:30 a.m. Thursday to a home on the 10200 block of Singapore near Album. The preliminary investigation revealed that 34-year-old Jacob Anthony Versoza allegedly assaulted his 36-year-old live-in girlfriend at the home.

Patrol officers responded to the home, and that's when they say Versoza barricaded himself inside the home with a knife and refused to leave.

EPPD SWAT negotiators were able to talk Versoza out of the home without incident around 10 a.m.

Versoza is charged with one count of Assault Family Violence and one count of Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon. He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a $6,500 bond.
