Two dumpsters were set on fire within a mile of each other on Tuesday morning. Fire investigators also say they were set ablaze within half-an-hour of each other in West El Paso.

The first fire occurred at the 6300 block of North Mesa near Coronado High School around 2 AM. This dumpster fire was extinguished within a matter of minutes. The second fire occurred within the Seville West Apartments on Shadow Mountain around 2:30 AM. It didn't take long for fire fighters to extinguish this fire either. However, the second fire was set in between two cars and near a gas line. Fire investigators say this fire could have caused some serious damage if it wasn't contained in time.

When we spoke with the fire investigator he told us these fires may be related to a series of dumpster fires that happened back in December.

As you may recall, six dumpsters were set ablaze all in one night. Three of those fires were found on Shadow Mountain and Enterprise near the Seville Apartments. Two were found on Sunland Park and Mesa Street. All of these fires were near businesses or inside apartment complexes.

Anyone with any information regarding these fires is asked to call the Fire Marshal’s office at (915) 485-5699 or Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 915-566-TIPS (8477).
