Police in northeast El Paso were sent on quite a chase that involved police in their patrol cars and even helicopters searching for a suspect or suspects.

At this time, details are limited but we do know it started late Monday night and ended in the area of Moonlight and Gateway North.

We also know that there was an aggravated robbery that happened at the same time, that officers tell us took place on the 5000 block of Alps, although it has not been confirmed if the two are related.

While we were on the scene, one witness, Miguel Cardenas, told us he saw police chasing a van on Highway 54.

"On our way back on 54 we saw some cops actually chasing a van on Hercules and Dyer, the exit. We were supposed to exit there but we were afraid something would happen so we kept going straight to exit on Hondo Pass."

The witness says the chase didn't end there, as he was arriving home some witnesses told him a foot chase had just taken place.

"I didn't see them but we were around the block and some kids actually some teenagers told us that you know they saw a lot of cops running through the alleys i guess chasing somebody."

It's reported that two suspects may be in police custody.
