Suspected Drunk Driver Plows Through Construction Barriers While Overnight Crews Were Present

EL PASO — Police arrested a driver on suspicion of DWI after he allegedly drove through construction barriers along I-10 while overnight crews were working.
According to emergency dispatchers, the driver was leaving Jaguars Gold Club on Gateway West shortly after 2:30 a.m. Tuesday when witnesses reported that he crashed into a rock wall.
The driver then got onto I-10 west where he reportedly did not stop for the road crews, and drove through the barriers.
The workers blocked the vehicle with a work truck until officers arrived.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of DWI.
