Suspected Drunk Driver Arrested After Overnight Wreck

Police suspect alcohol in an overnight crash in East El Paso. Annette Martinez, 38, was arrested on DWI charges early Thursday morning. 

The wreck happened at approximately 2:15 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Yarbrough and Gateway West.

According to officers on the scene,  Martinez was driving a black GMC Yukon south on Yarbrough when she crashed into the back of a pickup truck that was stopped at a red light.

The pickup was pushed into oncoming traffic and crashed into another car that was traveling north on Yarbrough.  The third vehicle did not stop.

The driver of the pickup was not injured, but two passengers in the truck were taken to the hospital with neck injuries. 

Further investigation revealed Martinez had a previous conviction for DWI in 2004.
