Suspected animal cruelty in Far East El Paso
EL PASO TEXAS- Over the weekend, Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the 15100 block of Gwendolyn (Montana Vista) in reference to a vicious animal call.
Upon arrival Deputies were lead to the location where it was reported that several dogs were seen fighting on the premises and feeding off of other dead dogs on the same property.
Further investigation revealed the there were approximately 11 loose dogs on the property with no food or water. Deputies made contact with a man identified as Victor Espeleta-Hernandez at the location who claimed to be the owner of the dogs. Sheriff's Office Animal Control was summoned to the scene. Espeleta voluntarily surrendered the remaining dogs to the Sheriff's Office and was placed under arrest for Cruelty To Animals. The dogs were seized by Sheriff's Office Animal Control for their well being as they were considered endangered if left on the property.
Espeleta posted bond and was released early Sunday morning.
