Susan G. Komen gives money to local organizations
El Paso, TX (KTSM) — Race for the Cure in El Paso came and went, but the giving continues to be seen throughout the Borderland.
The Susan G. Komen Foundation awarded more than $300,000 to non-profit organizations that support breast cancer education, screening and treatment in El Paso County.
"This grant, for some of El Paso's most vulnerable individuals, that are undergoing cancer and literally do not have the resources to be able to do this, we're able to help while they wait for other funding or get qualified for other funding," said Dennece Knight, executive director.
The El Paso grant recipients are:
Cancer and Chronic Disease Consortium
El Paso Baptist Clinic
Rio Grande Cancer Foundation
University Medical Center Foundation of El Paso
Texas Tech Medical Student Run Free Clinic
