Survey Reveals Climbing Poverty Levels

A survey conducted by the Associated Press indicated the poverty rate in America could climb to levels not seen since the 1960s.
The AP surveyed more than a dozen nonpartisan liberal and conservative economists, academics and so-called think tanks. They predicted the poverty rate will rise from 15.1 percent in 2010 to as high as 15.7 percent when the census figures come out this Fall.
Even a modest gain of 0.1 percent would put the poverty rate at its highest level since 1965.
