Sunland Park, NM.-  A Sunland Park city council rep confirms to Newschannel 9 that Javier Perea has been appointed Sunland Park's new mayor, for the second time this year. As you may recall, 24-year-old Javier Perea was chosen in a 2 to 4 vote on April 18th but he resigned a week after it was discovered that other candidates were locked out of an open meeting because of over-crowding.
