An El Paso hiker found in the Gila National Forest last week is now conscious.

Bob Sumrall's daughter tells us the 67 year-old is now breathing on his own.

Sumrall was air-lifted to University Medical Center, Friday after spending six days lost in the woods in snow and freezing temperatures.

There's still no word on when he'll be released from the hospital.

Meanwhile the search continues for Sumrall's dog, Zulu, who helped him stay warm while lost in the wilderness.

The three year-old black lab mix ran away when Sumrall was found.

According to our media partners at the El Paso Times, about 3,500 dollars has been donated to a reward fund to find Zulu.
