Suicide Bomber Behind Moscow Airport Blast; 31 killed
MOSCOW— Investigators in Russia believe a suicide bomber was behind the attack that killed at least 31 people at Moscow's busiest airport Monday.
The attack happened during the busiest time in the late afternoon at the airport. At least 31 people died and nearly 170 people were injured by the bombing. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but the incident seems to be similar to previous attacks by militants fighting for an Islamic state in the North Caucasus region of Russia. The North Caucasus is the northern part of the Caucasus region between the Black and Caspian Seas and within European Russia. The militant group has vowed to take their bombing campaign from the North Caucasus to the Russian heartland and hit transport and economic targets.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said he vowed to track down and punish the person or persons behind Monday's attack.
