It may seem like many Facebook users troll the site 24/7, but there also seems to be an opposing force, "Facebook fatigue," where users are cutting off the social network altogether.

NBC News reported a new study by the Pew Research Center reported that that 61 percent of Facebook users say they've taken breaks from the networks for weeks at a time, sometimes longer.

Facebook vacationers cited being too busy and getting bored with their Facebook feeds.

According to the research, "others pointed towards a general lack of interest in the site itself (10 percent mentioned this in one way or another), an absence of compelling content (10 percent), excessive gossip or 'drama' from their friends (9 percent), or concerns that they were spending too much time on the site and needed to take a break (8 percent)."
